The performance major (fashion performance) was established in 1993, and converted into a four-year undergraduate course in 1997.Currently, 40 undergraduates are enrolled each year.It is a Special Program with Distinctive Features at the Beijing Municipal Level. Over the past 27 years, it has trained hundreds of fashion performance professionals for the society and has gained a good reputation in the industry. Over the years, 4 students have been rated chief models of the year, 34 top ten fashion models of the year, 71 champions, 44 runners-ups, and 29 third winners in various competitions. And have trained more than 40 students winning CCTV TV Model Contest, New Silk Road Model Contest, ELITE Model Contest China Region, China Super Model Contest, China Model Star Contest Finals, Miss World, China Top Ten Professional Fashion Models, International Models etc., gaining the reputation of “The Huangpu Military Academy in model industry” among their peers. The performance major (fashion directing) was established in 2016. After completing the 2-year study of basic fashion performance, students can choose the direction of fashion directing to continue their studies. After graduation, they can engage in fashion directing, fashion show production, event planning etc.

After graduation, students in performance majors (fashion performance direction/fashion directing) can work in the following directions: seniormanagement, fashion directing, contract model and professional training in model agencies or performance brokerage agencies; teaching and management work in professional institutions; design or marketing work in clothing enterprises; work as a fashion editor in professional media (such as TV stations, magazines or online media); planning work in advertising and film industry.
