Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology is the first university in China to establish the major of fashion communication. Starting from the program of fashion media design in the major of fashion design in 2006, it was upgraded into the communication major (fashion communication) independently in 2013. It has undergone 12-year development so far and trained 12 terms of graduates. Fashion communication is an emerging cross-disciplinary discipline. It integrates communication and design, advertising, human culture, art, management, linguistics and other disciplines, gradually developing into an contemporary and guiding independent frontier discipline. Communication-Fashion Communication of Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology performs a cross-border integration of fashion culture, fashion design, fashion industry, fashion economy and communication media, public relations, and communication promotion, pioneering in Chinese fashion communication education. This major currently enrolls 30 liberal arts students each year and also aims to open enrollment to science and art students in the future.
